Babbling

Okay... So life here is going to be different.... Mom's going to be working from home now. I'm happy for her. Less driving and no stress from ucky supervisor.... But I kinda like having the place to myself sometimes. Not that I don't love my Mom and love spending time with her... But you know, I just like a few hours all to myself....

I think I'm going to start seriously working towards a goal though. Get job.... Work on fixing my credit mess..... Save money..... Move out.... I'll be 29 this April, so maybe by the time I'm 30?

Never thought about living on my own until this past year. Never felt motivated... never had a pressing need.... I get along with Mom and we like spending time together... But it'll be nice to live on my own... To set up everything the way -I- want it. To clean up after only me (and cats).

Started making mental plans. Like thinking about saving money for furniture that I'd need and dishes and things. I have bedroom furniture, so there's something I won't have to buy...

I just need to get unstuck.... I've been living in this comfort zone since we left Anaheim. In Long Beach I was too scared to leave. I mean we lived not far from Prostitute Lane and just houses down, kids got shot at.... Part of me had this, it's only temporary mentality. We'll move and I can start my real life.... But all that ended up happening was me getting more and more stuck into this bum life. Oh I help with rent a little and I cook and clean... But I could and need to do more.... So we moved to safer Norwalk.... But I'm stuck... I'm tired of being stuck... I don't even know why I can't get out of this. I -should- be motivated to do stuff. Maybe with this new "move out" goal. I actually miss work... Even at my old crappy bookstore job. I almost don't even care what I do. With Mom home 24/7, I think I'll finally be motivated to get up and do stuff. Here's praying anyway....

Life Stuff... Moving

So... It took like months and MONTHS to find a pet friendly apartment. What's so wrong with having cats these days? Anywho... We took it. And while this apartment is very nice and far more spacious than the last one, it is rather pricey for a one bedroom. So without much help from me, Mom wanted to move. Well she always wanted to live closer to Nana anyway...

Okay fine... we renewed last year's lease only becasued we didn't have a place to move to yet. So we opted for an 11 month renewal instead of a full year. Month to month is like 300 bucks more..... INSANE..... But the ding bat in the office typed it up wrong and when Mom signed the official lease renewal she didn't notice because she trusted and was likely tired.... Bleh.... So we're here til end of October like I had originally wanted, only now I don't want it. :P

ANYWHO.... New place... Will be in San Pedro but not like down the street from Nana's... Yay for buffer zone.... One of her "connections" so the land lords are totally nice. It's a house type unit connected to one other unit by a sliver of roof over a walkway between the two units. Nice hard wood floors in rooms and pretty tile work in the bathroom, kitchen, and laundry room! Washer and dryer included... Pretty front door and screen door for the babies... TWO bedrooms... Smallish rooms....one of the rooms is even smaller than the Long Beach apartment had, but TWO ROOMS!!!!! And of course there's a yard with real grass! Parking on the property so mom doesn't have to park on street.... Storage shed I'm hoping they don't tear down.... No dishwasher but ceiling fans in all the rooms... It's a charming little place.

I went from dreading the move to Nana's or any crappy apartment in San Pedro to DYING to move into the place. I took foot measurements of what will likely be my room to see if I could arrange my furniture on a mini map. Mom doesn't really have any but she doesn't care. We're both very excited. We're hoping once the usual clean-up and painting is done that we can move in slowly. But I don't care if we have to do it all in one weekend again. So weeeee for a new happy home.

Life Stuff..... Movies

Last month we saw four movies. (Thank you, Daddy!) Fourth of July weekend, we saw Hancock and Wanted. Like one wild roller coaster, both movies were SOOO fun but over WAAAY too quickly. For a week after, Mom and I kept saying we wanted to see Wanted again. And I made Josh find me a couple of the songs from the soundtrack as soon as possible.

A couple weeks later, we went to see Journey to the Center of the Earth and the Dark Knight. Journey I thought was just gonna be this silly little family fun movie...but it turned out to be better than expected and over far too soon! :P What's with film makers these days, cramming two hours worth of stuff into an hour and a half or less.

Dark Knight.... I loved that movie! I'm dying to see it again! After one week, I thought "oh the feeling will pass". But it never did... How many weeks since we saw it? I still would jump at the chance to see it. It's funny, even Mom keeps saying she wants to see it again. Said so just tonight too.

Favorite quote in that movie: "Madness is a lot like gravity. All you need is a little push."

Heath's performance as the Joker was scary good. It only makes his death even more sad. Jack was good as the Joker... But Heath's Joker made Jack's Jocker look sane. I'm still bummed Batman said no to finding out where the Joker got his scars... I sooo wanted to hear another version of the tale. :P

I want to go see more movies... I get the funny feeling after we move we won't be going to the movies very much. I don't know why... Maybe an overall feeling of doom and gloom associated with moving. :P

Who's going to see the new Star Wars movie? I kinda think I'll watch it IF it comes on TV.... Half the cast of voices or more will be replaced with nobodies... Tossing in that unknown alien chick seems silly... I mean yeah..learning more about the Clone Wars would be interesting. Those prequel movies went by too quickly and weren't fleshed out properly. Like Lucas was in a rush to make those movies. Shame. The original three were such fun and awesome movies even today....

There's supposed to be another Trek movie coming out. I guess chronologically it falls before the original series began. So, yay, another boring series/movie about how Trek lore got started. I don't know why they're bothering... Enterprise (the show) KILLED the franchise. I mean they so gave up that they packed up and auctioned off much of the models and collectables that they kept for filming purposes. While Enterprise had an interesting premise... The execution sucked. I can't see the film of the beginning of Kirk's crew fairing any better.

We borrowed a bunch of movies (thanks Dad) one weekend because Mom was DYING to see something. I dunno, she saw a commercial for one of a series and suddenly had the urge to watch the whole series of them. So we get dressed... Drive over... and pick up a BUNCH of movies. Wanna know how many we watched? She and I saw one... I watched another one on my own. I'm so tired of waiting for her to get in the "mood" to watch one movie or another. Same goes for any movie I may have taped for "her".... I'm done waiting... Before we move, I'm watching all of Dad's movies we borrowed and anything I may have taped that I'm waiting for her "mood" to come around.

Eeeps... When I started this, it was only gonna be a short blurb! Honest! :P I babble more later at night I think... Anywho... Enough babble.. Think I'll go mimi now... well after I tidy the kitchen.

Life Stuff..... My Furry Babies

As of late May, Oreo turned TEN years old. We had him at least most of those years. As of mid May, Pixie turned ONE, and as of mid July, she's been living with us for a year. And both of them have us wrapped around their little claws...

Oreo taddles on me when I don't feed him right away or open the door for him in the morning. Yes, taddles. He meows at Mom. Mom will say "Carisa, feed the baby//open the door for the baby!" And Oreo will look to the door to see towards my direction to see if I'm moving. If not, he looks back to Mom until she calls again. Sometimes, I watch him do this for a while til both Mom and I are laughing.

Pixie Styx is goofy, weird, and soooo smart. She chases shadows and imaginary "pixies". She hates being stared at, especially when she's getting attention from someone else. She'll actually yell at me when I stare at her while Mom's scratching her. And for the longest time the only place she asked for scratching was in the bathroom when we were on the toilet. All that said, she already picked up on the manipulating the Mommies trick.

So, last night, Mom's getting ready for bed in the bathroom. I'm in the next room clearing off the bed for her. We're talking through the door. Well, she's scratching Pixie, but not as good as usual since her focus is split. Pixie yelled at mom to scratch her properly. When that didn't work, she up and left the bathroom, walked out to me and yelled at me to shut up, and then walked back to the bathroom to get her scratching. Mom and I were BUSTING UP LAUGHING!

How Could They?

How can people be so cruel to animals? I just don't understand. I mean it took us months to find an apartment that accepted pets because we couldn't bear the thought of giving up Oreo. My friend Steven made sure when he had to move too far to take his dog with him that he found a home for it before he left. I'd rather live in a dump before just abandoning my babies to some shelter. I felt horrible when we dropped off a kitten to some random shelter. But we didn't know how to care for the teeny tiny thing properly and there at least he had a chance of being adopted.

~sighs~ I guess neither of those sad stories were as sad as some of the things I've seen on Animal Cops. Mom can't watch that show too long. Makes her too sad. Makes me sad too, but I like to see that the poor animals get rescued. But some of the things.... I wonder how people can be so cruel.... neglect... abandonment... Collars or chains digging into their skin... Throwing them away in the trash! Shooting them.... Making them fighters.... And the laws aren't stict enough to punish people properly. I wish these people could get the same treatment if not worse that they inflict on their so called beloved pets.

Goodbye Isis..and Baby....

Okay.. this is gonna be way shorter since Myspace LOST my first attempt at this....
Baby and Isis were two grey kitties we fed. Baby showed up over a year ago. Poor thing got real sick or something and started dropping weight REAL fast a couple months ago. Weak and limping, we think he got hit by a car in the car port. Another stray cat feeding neighbor called SEAACA (humaine society) and got him picked up. Thank God... Poor Baby, he was suffering so... crying out of hunger pains and nothing but skin and bones.

Isis was an Egyptian looking kitten with long limbs and a pointier features. She was sooo pretty. Showed up about a week or so ago... She's not even a year old so she cries ALOT for food, attention, company...anything. Heard her crying outside upstairs neighbor's door. I thought maybe one of the neighbors lost their kitty. She sorta camped outside our window most. Cried off and on ALL day long. She was the sweetest and cutest little thing. She broke Mom's heart. She needed to be adopted. So we couldn't take it and called SEAACA. Wednesday I waited ALL day til they picked her up at the last possible minute.

With Baby we were relieved. We knew they'd put him down. He was sick, injured, and kinda old. So with overpopulation I hope they put him out of his misery. Or if by some miracle they did save him, I hope he's in a loving home now. But we were prepared for the worst, so we were glad he'd be out of pain. But with Isis... She was so cute and loving..... We're happy she'll be in a home soon... but still kinda sad to see her go. Mom said if we could afford it, we'd probably have taken her in too. And though I hate to admit it, I think I wished we had. Tweedledee and Tweedledum (two black and white stray kittens from Pixie's litter) helped by being extra cute since Isis was picked up... As if they knew we needed the smile. Maybe God was thinking of us by sending them.

Anyway... Goodbye Baby and Isis... Wherever you are, I hope you two never suffer again...

The Truth is Worse...

Yesterday morning Jacob came up to the door. Yelled for food or attention like usual. I walked him to the apartment we were led to believe is home to Jacob... Maintenance had told us one apartment, but those tenants had been there a year and didn’t know the cat.... Neighbor kid said it was a few apartments down that actually owned the cat. Went there (as I have been for the past few days off and on with Jacob) and no one was home. Okay, probably at work... Kept walking to the main office, with Jacob right behind me. That poor boy will follow me everywhere.

Anywho... When I got there... The girl in the office had found out about him. Said 215 (first apt) had owned him years ago. Moved out and left him behind. 219 (second apt) wasn’t the owner... He like us, just fed him. And like Mark (neighbor who adopted Tiger and almost adopted Pixie), sometimes let him inside. He was just like us... Feeding a stray he felt sorry for. And all this time Mom and I have been sooo mad at him and calling him names.... Thankfully he didn’t hear them, but I am sorry we did call him names as he’s not the one responsible for poor Jacob’s situation.

So the real person we should be mad at is the one who moved out and just left Jacob. Why? Because he was an indoor/outdoor cat and they thought he’d be okay? I guess he was when he had a running mate (this one cat who was even bigger than the bigboy Jacob is and looked like Oreo says Mom).... But his friend’s owner moved out shortly after we got here to a house (yay for them). So Jacob lost his human family and his feline friend. He’s just been getting lonelier and lonelier.

If we had a carrier.. Maybe we could take him to a rescue or a shelter. Yeah he’s being fed... But he’s unhappy. He keeps coming to us more and more just for me to give him some loving. Wish someone would adopt him. Mom thinks he’d make a nice companion for an older person. Jacob’s not a young cat, so he’s grumpy sometimes. Has an older person’s personality that she thinks will work with an elderly person. Like they’ll keep each other alive by fiesty-ness alone.

Ah well.... Fluffy stopped coming around. But supposedly the management is trying to catch and rid the apartments of strays. Haven’t seen Midnight or the Godfather in ages either. Godfather I HOPE found his home. I had put up flyers and after that day, never saw him again. Midnight I dunno about.. Maybe he got adopted or caught. Leaves just Baby and Jacob that we feed. From the near ten strays we fed a year ago to just two. Good for me... It was getting kinda crazy before. But now we don’t feed feral strays... Jacob and Baby are practically family. We’d even take Jacob in if we thought Oreo wouldn’t mind... which he does... They hiss at each other through the screen door. Ah well.... C’est la vie....

Lies! All Lies!

(attempt number two... ~curses cancel button~)

Okay... so lately... I don’t check Myspace that often. Bad me and whatever.... But I come on here and I see New Blog Posted in the red box.... Oh joy! I love reading people’s blogs... Open up my blog home page... Nada..... Why!? Why Myspace do you lie to me!!!! I smile at the thought of reading someone’s blog and poof bang nothing.... Le sigh.... Anywho.. Enough of that silliness.....

I have a confession... I’ve grown addicted to these little game/applications on Facebook... Ssshhh... Don’t tell Myspace. Hmm.. Maybe that’s why it’s been lying to me...... Anywho... I’m addicted to these games... And the only sucky thing is... Facebook eats a TON of my comp’s limited virtual memory. I end up having to restart if I play too long or access it too often. So I am bummed.. I have to schedule it as like the last thing I do online before shutting the comp down.

In kitty news.... Pixie’s learned getting loving (held and or scratched) is a GOOOOOD thing. She can’t get enough now... So now she wants TWICE as much attention... Not only lots of playing but also loving sessions. Oreo’s getting jealous. :P Now he’s always begging for loving... from Mom and I both. He’s usually a Mama’s boy (and by that I mean Mom not me).... Yeah we’re two mommies.. but I’m usually the "dad" in this lil furry family.. I play with them, I disicpline them... And I get to do their dirty cleanup work too... Yay that’s great... But lately, Oreo wants loving from even me... Usually I’m only good for playing. So yay for me getting affection from the baby boy.

They changed policy here. No more indoor/outdoor pets un supervised. No more feeding/boarding strays. Mom was like I hope that wasn’t directed at us! I laughed and told her about the lady on the end who keeps an open pet carrier with food and water dishes for strays.... Another person leaves SEVERAL water dishes out. Lots of the tenants feed strays. The one we HOPE will read the notice and follow it (hasn’t yet followed it) was the bastard who now owns Jacob. That poor cat spent most of the weekend outside our door. Starved most of the time.. I think the bastard went on vacation AGAIN. Jacob had to find shelter while it rained. We left a towel out for him to sit in during the day. Bastard was home yesterday and I didn’t see Jacob... I was relieved until I saw him again today. Poor Jacob. We’d adopt him if our babies and him got along... But he’s a big older cat... He needs a loving home.... I almost hope the traps the manager set catch him and he goes to the shelter. That will teach that bastard.

Mom and I have taken to watching Firefly and Serenity over and over and over again. Firefly was only on for one season so we’ll watch a few episodes a day and usually by the weekend we’ll watch Serenity. Addicted I tell ya. We love the show... Most of the episodes are our favorites... We love the crew... the chemistry they have.... The show’s got a lil bit of everything and we love it all! Once a week we’ll have watched it all.... We’ve been doing it for weeks on end now. We never get sick of it. :P Mom blames me... And we’re both the same... One of us will say we want to watch it and the other will say me too! or I was just thinking the same thing! It’s funny. It really is an awesome series and movie... Highly recommend all my friends and family watch it. ~nodsnods~

Oh and look at me babbling away.. Only came on to blurb about the blog thing. :p Anywho.. Toodles....

Poker Night

Soooo... For the first time in my life I went to a Poker Night! Last Friday, my best friend hosted Poker Night at her place. Lots of folks were invited, so I thought sure I’ll go and watch.... I don’t ...didn’t... know how to play anyway. With so many people there, I could have fun watching and general socializing. Didn’t work that way....

Of the eleven people who said they’d be there (including the hostess, her boyfriend who had no choice , and me), only two others showed up. The rest cancelled lil by lil.... turds.... And even they showed up an hour late.... Worked for me... Had some practice rounds... a.k.a. teach the Carisa how to play Texas hold ’em.

It’s a fun game... I’m sure had we played with real money, I’d have lost way more than I’d ever gain. Let’s just say... Gambling will likely never be something I’m good at... Cards... Slots.. Nada...

Jenny (I think that was her name) and Kevin both claimed they hadn’t played before.... Okay... Jenny might not have as she was asking questions all night... But Kevin said he’d watched alot on TV... I’m thinking he was understating his TV watching. He was doing far better than the rest of us... Even helped explain bits of the game to Jenny...

Amidst all the game playing we had all the snacks and drinks we could possibly want... cuz poor Issi was expecting at least 11 people.... And these were gooooood snacks too. Snackage I’m sure I would have eaten more of had I not eaten dinner.

ANYWHO! The game playing was all fun, win or lose... It was all in fun with no real money since I’m poor and 2 of us were really just learning. Good thing too cuz I would have lost the farm two or three times over. Yep that includes chips I got from Issi to keep me playing... As she lost, I’m sure she wishes she hadn’t given em to me.

Highlights... At one point, the stakes were high... it was down to 2-3 people.... Jenny and Kevin being two of them. To match Kevin’s raise, Jenny had to go all in and still was 10 short... Not wanting her to back off, Kevin gave her 10 of his... to "help" her. I said he did it cuz he knew they were going right back to him. And I’m pretty sure he really thought they were going back to him... But Jenny won! And in her cute and innnocent voice, she asked, "do you want your chips back?" Oh, we were all laughing for a GOOD long while after that and the line was said many times just to refresh our memories throughout the night. If you don’t see the humor in it... I guess ya had to be there.... But man was it funny!

Jenny, Kevin, and Chrissi are all classmates in a therapy program. They’ve been classmates since the start of the program. Chrissi pointed out that the line was right up there with Robert’s (I -theeenk- it was Robert) line. Andrew musta heard the story before, but I hadn’t so I asked. And mnd you, this is told WAY better in person and by Chrissi.....

So one of their classes covered therapy in suicide situations. They were taught not to dance around the question of whether or not the person wanted to commit suicide. So they went around play acting situations and they’d have to act like real therapists. Come Robert’s turn, the instructor or a classmate gives him the schpiel as a patient. He asks, "are you planning to hurt yourself.... OR better yeeettt... kill yourself." In trying to correct himself in front of the instructor he had the whole class roaring with laughter. Issi said, he’s never been able to live the line down even after all these years. Hopefully it helps him not to make the mistake if he was ever really in such a situation.

After a few hours of playing, it was late. Jenny and Kevin got there at 8... so yeah it was late. Kevin won most of the chips and certainly most of the high end chips. After they left, Chrissi and Andrew took me home... They hadn’t slept. That was fine... The night was fun, I was getting kinda sleepy too, and I had already figured they’d drop me off after the others left.

In the future, when I’m not as brokeded... it’ll be fun to play for real money. Of course I won’t get as many chips as we got that night (split em amonst the five of us since no real money ), but it should still be fun to see if I can win... I’ll just have to pul out before I lose too much.

NOTE: I started this like 6hrs ago... Stopped to watch movies.... Now I’m sleepy and while it all made sense in my head, not so sure if it does to the rest of you. And here’s a sign you’ve been playing Vampires! A Dark Alleyway too much, you spell Kevin with an "a" instead of an "i". I had to go and change all the Kevan’s to Kevin.

Laundry Room.....

How can people be so frelling inconsiderate???

144 apartments... 3 laundry rooms... 4 washers and 4 dryers in each... I get that that’s not enough machines. I get that some people save ALL their laundry for the last frelling minute when they have nothing but Halloween costumes or prom dresses to wear.... Even though I think that’s frelling retarded to wait so long.... I get that people do it. That still doesn’t mean they have to forget about their neighbors when doing laundry!

I try not to use all four machines at once even if I have 5-6 loads of laundry to wash that I’d really like to finish all at once. I never use more than 2 machines at any one time. Why? So my other neighbors can do at least SOME of their laundry. When moving laundry over, unless I’m in the laundry room alone, I pull it all out as quickly as I can and sort later. Why? So I don’t make my other neighbors wait an eternity to get theirs started. In fact, I move FASTER when I see someone waiting.

All that said.... Tonight I saw my fellow neighbors being as inconsiderate as they possibly could! I walk in and all four machines are being used by the same woman. I know cuz she was in there putting in softener. Okay fine.. Not the first time. I’ll come back later....

Finally get my two loads washed. Yay, small accomplishment. I’m emptying one machine and sorting as I go, cuz I’m in there alone and stalling for someone to empty a dryer. No go, cuz someone else came in carrying a bundle of clothes. So I quickly finish emptying at least one machine so she can start washing, followed quickly by the second one. Waited around for a little bit, but decide to carry both heavy wet loads back... Some of the stuff was hang dry only anyway.

Come back with the sheets to get dried... All dryers are going or being filled... One was being filled by the woman I had emptied a washer for.... But she was doing it soooo slowly. Okay.. no biggie to me right? I was done washing. But then a guy comes in to wash. And missy miss is still pulling out one item at a time sorting between basket or dryer.... ONE AT A TIME.... And I kid you not, it was like a frelling clown car scene... Never thought I’d see an end to the amount of clothes that came out of that washer.... But hey, what did she care, right? Nevermind the guy waiting to wash. I almost said something... Like...."Hey, can you hurry up? This guy’s waiting.. You know.. Kinda like you were waiting for me? And -I- hurried up for YOU."

Pfft.. whatever.. I got tired of waiting for someone to empty a dryer... Returned to find someone emptying one. Yay!..... Sorta... The older woman was taking her sweet ass time folding each thing she pulled out of the dryer. Why do that! Fold your frelling laundry at home! or pull it all out and fold it after. So fine.. I’m waiting and waiting... How much can she have in there... Another woman with a flock of children comes in to empty another dryer... Hmmm... which one will get emptied first... But soon as she saw me waiting, she slowed down ans started folding her laundry too! WTF!? Fine..... Older chick finished and I QUICKLY threw my laundry in and started the frelling machine...

What the frell is wrong with people! Ugh.... Sorry for the rant... Call it a pet peeve of mine... Inconsiderate people in general.. but especially laundry room etiquette.. or lack there of.....

Look what I made!!!!

I actually got in the kitchen to make something! I mean yes I can cook and do more of the cooking these days... But I was never much for baking and that kind of kitchen stuff... But this week I decided to make Chocolate Truffles... Mom usually makes them, but we didn't do that this past Christmas and I missed them... So I made them! And they came out soooo yummy. They're rolled in crushed pecans and the chocolatey nutty goodness came out so nicely.

If you want some, you have to come and get them.....before I eat them all! Just joshin'... I didn't make THAT many cuz I wasn't sure if I'd screw it up or not. Don't they look good.... Maybe I'll share.... Maybe....

CDs and Kitties

I made mom's CDs... Had enough songs on the list to make 2 CDs. This time I made 'em a little fun to look at too.... Instead of a blankish CD cover, I found cover art just for my mommy....

Aren't they cute? She loves Spongebob, so I thought I'd find her some fitting images on DeviantArt. I was sooo happy with them, that I couldn't even wait til morning to show them to her. :P Luckily she had gotten up for something else and I showed em to her then. :P

Now...... Pixie is like five or six months old (based on what the vet guessed when we got her fixed a few months ago). And the little brat is getting so big!!!!! Mom and I both feel real blessed to have her and Oreo cuz they both put smiles on our faces for their various actions.... Like getting comfortable in a plastic shopping bag:

All the while Oreo just watched his goofy sister from the couch.... (He often watches her being goofy or getting in trouble.... the brat that he is.)

Look What I Did!

I did something I've never ever done before this past Sunday. My best friend heard I hadn't carved a pumpkin and decided I should do it at least once. I'm glad, cuz I had a ball.

After fighting LOTS of traffic bogged down from Knott's Scary Farm goers, we went to a cute little pumpkin patch. Hay and pumpkins all over the place. Huge jumpers to entertain the little kids. And a wagon/train like ride going around the whole area. There were slim pickins, but we both found pumpkins we were happy with. :)

Took them to Chrissi's place where she had kits to help us carve them. She picked a pirate ship and I picked a ghostie face. Okay so even as simple as it was it did take me a leeeettle longer to do, but it was my first time. There weren't a ton of pumpkin seeds in them but they still had enough to give us a taste of homemade pumpkin seeds, far tastier than the store bought ones.

Anywho, neither of our cameras took really awesome pics, but hers got the better shots, so here they are. First ours together and then just mine. :)

I keep forgetting to light the candle... Sssshhhh... Don't tell Chrissi! I'll remember tomorrow though. :) I actually almost forgot to blow out the candle the first night which is probably why I keep forgetting to light it.

Give me more BLOOD!

(Okay... more Blood+)

Going through some real Blood+ withdrawals. What a tease. Why must Cartoon Network always show us just enough of an awesome anime to get us hooked then cut us off half way through the series..... I watched episodes 1-26 on Cartoon Network or YouTube and now there's no more to be found. ~cries~ That's a lie. I COULD watch it in Japanese or with subtitles.... But once ya get used to hearing the dubbed version, the Japanese voices get on your nerves. Guess I'll have to find something to fill the void.... Anyone know of a good anime dubbed in English and completely available to watch online? (Comp can't handle downloading lots)... Also, is it silly to think a cartoon/anime character is totally cute and awesome? :P

Noooo... Anime guys are HOT! Most of the time, at least... I know I used to love Endimion and Tuxedo Mask, and one of the bad guys from Sailormoon, and there's Hotohori from Fushigi Yuugi, and also Toya from Ayashi No Ceres.... OMG... I still drool over them. LOL.

Oy...

I'm starting to hate visiting the relatives. Whenever we go to Nana's, the conversation is almost always in Spanish. They'll laugh and talk and I'll be clueless. I remember before when running off to read or listen to music was said to be rude, but then they go and speak Spanish in front of me and that's not rude?? Okay, Gabriel speaks Spanish better, no big deal, I can hardly understand him in English anyway. And okay, Elizabeth speaks little English. Okay fine. But when she's not in the room, why can't they speak English? Laughing and talking, having a good ol' time... Yeah, no wonder I get bored out of my mind there.

So today we went to visit at Nana's cuz Uncle David, Aunt Elizabeth and my little cousins were coming up and we missed their last couple of visits in town. But oy.... Between all the Spanish speaking and annoying little cousins... Beniah, 6, Enoch, 4, and Melodia, 14mos.... The boys were so loud and noisey and kept running around or trying to attack stuff. Melodia just kept trying to play with stuff that she shouldn't, breakables... the boys toys... marbles...

There was no where to retreat. Normally I hide in the living room or family room. But there was a munchkin or Spanish conversation going on in almost all rooms. I love my family, but visiting extended family's never been uber fun. It's less so now.

Two things... I am SOOOO NOT having kids... Ugh... And if by some act or will of God I DO have kids, I'm not gonna subject them to rude relatives who insist on speaking a language they don't know in front of them. Either speak their language or go to another room and have your private talks. That or I'll just not bring them to visit. I hated it when I was a kid, and I hate it more so as an adult.

I know what you mean... *hugs* I hate visiting relatives too. >.<

Mija, I understand what you are going through as I have gone through quite often and to me someone calling you rude for not participating and then precede to speak in their language is just down right stupid and ignorant on their part. But you have to choices you either learn the language enough to understand or do what I always did which is tell them to speak english. My mom would do that when she didn't want my friends to understand what she was telling me and on many occasions I would tell her that was rude if she didn't wan them to hear either tell me in private or wiat til they leave. But then again we are talking about your nana and that is a losing cause in the first place.

So... yeah...

I'm walking around gathering trash and I find a Pixie in the bathroom. Now she's been known to sleep in odd spots. She likes sleeping on the bathroom rug, for one. But that's not where I found her. Nope... She was laying down all cozy like in the LITTER BOX! I love her to pieces but sometimes she's such a little freak. Maybe giving her a bath today traumatized her.... though it's not like it was her first bath.... Ah well, at least it was a cleaned up litter box. I'll share pics later, but for now back to the kitchen I keep stalling to do. :P

But oh what a ... Saturday

Plan A: Meet at theatre for movie A at 1110 and movie B at 150

Plan B: Meet at theatre for movie B at 1150 and movie A at 150

Plan C: Meet at IHOP for breakfast and then watch movie A at 150

And the winner:

Plan D: Meet at Norms down the street from IHOP and then watch movie A at 150

It was kinda funny... Anywho, we got to see the movie I personally wanted to see more anyway... And good thing too, cuz it's been in the theatres longer and might vanish sooner. The third Bourne movie was great! Action, humor... okay not side splitting but more like "haha, you deserved that"... It was fun going out to eat too. We're all pretty goofy. Sit us at a table facing each other and stick food in us and we can get pretty silly. Thank you, Dad, for a great day!
______________________________

We parted ways... Dad and Josh to their place... Mom and I to the market... The real fun came a while after we got home.... Ah, yes thrilling fun.... Pixie and Oreo have worms. Common enough problem among pets so I'm told. Picked up Pixie and it was just ever so yucky. Made my skin crawl the way having ant or roach problems does. Called the After Hours Clinic and they said if we could get them there in 20 minutes.... Well Mom's changed, I'm half changed... Both rush to get public decent. I try and pack Pixie in a cardboard box cuz we don't have a carrier. That fails, she fights and fights and keeps trying to get out before I can close it. Had to borrow the neighbor's cat carrier. Pixie proceeded to scratch the hell out of me trying to keep from being put in the carrier. Oy.

Tick tock tick tock.... Luckily the Clinic's just down the street and we made it in time. Vet gave both of them a shot, and we crammed both Pixie and Oreo into the cat carrier... plenty of room. Oreo usually travels in my arms, wrapped in a towel and a plastic bag so he doesn't pee on me. Both in one was MUCH better. We sooooo gotta get them a carrier before we take them back for a second shot. Oreo even cried less in the carrier with Pixie.

When we got home, I was pretty much exhausted. Chasing, catching, and trying to get Pixie in the box and then the carrier was HARD work! For a lil thing she's got ALOT of fight in her! Cleaned the carrier and returned it... well after Oreo was done inspecting it. Nut that he is actually climbed back in 10 minutes after he was let out. Big baby needed lots of loving and reassuring after his shot... even to the point of needing to comfort his sister even though she didn't need it. Silly boy. Whew, I'm tired just remembering all that. Sheesh.

Movie Withdrawals

I just checked my calendar.... It's been almost two months since Mom and I went to the movies. Two months! We're used to seeing one or two movies a month and sometimes more. There's sooooo many movies out I wanna see and they're vanishing from the theatres. I understand the whys to us not going... but I still wanna cry.

Ya get used to these lil movie watching outings with family. Look forward to them. For Mom and I, apart from visiting family, going to the movies is our only fun outing. Man I wish movie theatres wouldn't charge so much for a ticket. It's insane. But of course we're already hooked on it.... Le sigh.... Guess we'll just depend on reading and borrowing from Dad's Movie Rental Shop. :P (Ooo... Dad, Mom finished all three movies the other day.)

Okay... Now to stop stalling... Have I ever mentioned I hate doing the kitchen? I can stall for hours to avoid it. :P And here I go again.. Okay I'll shut up.

Comment(s):

I don't go to the movies for 10 months... :| But Reuby and I substitute by getting movies off the server and watching them on the computer. Of course, it's not as good as watching it in the cinema!

Newest Addition to the Family....

Okay.. So I'm really late on sharing this bit of news with some of you... Almost two weeks ago, we adopted a new kitten. Rather she adopted me and little by little stole our hearts away so we took her in.

Yep, she's a mini Oreo. I named her Pixie as in Pixie Stix candy, cuz from the day I first saw her she's been on a sugar high that made me think of Dharma on "Pixie Stix". Anywho, Marc, the neighbor, says he thinks she's a girl. Yeah, I can't tell these things at all... At this point, I think I'll be bummed if the vet tells us it's really a boy. :P
She's one of three kittens that showed up recently, but she was the only friendly one. Tweedledee and Tweedledum, who showed up right away, come and eat and are scared just like their older companions, Buddy and Tigger. Marc thinks Buddy's the daddy, but I think Buddy's still kinda small to be out there fathering cats. 007 was probably the mother unless there's another dark kitty out there, as the security guard said he saw her with kittens one day. We rarely see 007 now though, so we might not have noticed anyway. Here's Buddy hiding in the bushes while Tweedledee eats his breakfast/dinner:

Tigger, Buddy's age, used to have potential for adopting, but now they're all just ferral... So it's really quite a miracle Pixie was so friendly. She's smaller than the other two, so maybe she was an abandoned runt.

I heard her crying outside, she wasn't even outside our door.... Over the TV, the game noises, the Y!M alerts, and music, I heard her crying around the corner of our apartment. Right away when I went out there and started talking to her, she came out to me. She was so leeetle and you could make out her bones... After feeding her, she wanted some loving and playing and... yeah she wasn't shy at all.

Marc took her in a couple nights (not in a row), bathed her, and I guess tested the waters with Tiger (the cat he took in shortly after we moved here). But Pixie's boundless energy seemed like too much work to him.

Oreo seemed okay with him. He usually hisses at cats that look like him. Dunno why. But he's never liked cats that look like him before... But here he is now, before Pixie moved in:

Soooo... Yeah, Mom and I looked at each other and asked if we could give her a trial. I wasn't sure we should. We'd tried this before with a younger kitten and Oreo glared at it like he could kill it with his stare... So I was nervous, but Pixie was just looking at us from outside.... We brought her in and gave her like three baths to kill off as many fleas as possible... Poor lil thing... She now hates being carried into the bathroom. :P I can't imagine why. Anywho, she's made herself right at home now.

Isn't she cute? She carries that egg shell ALL over the place and has a ball all by herself... She squished that tissue box... We left her another one and she sticks her head in it and pushes it around almost as if it's a car or something. It's hilarious. We tied a red ribbon around her so she'd get used to a collar. I've replaced it now with a smaller pink ribbon, as she kept playing with the bigger red one and getting out of it. :P (No idea what she's playing with here.)

While Oreo does get jealous when we're holding her and not him or playing with her and not him (and we give him all the attention he wants when he asks), he and Pixie are getting along. They play fight and she can get on his nerves, but it's just a matter of getting to know her limits with him. She right now is like the little annoying sister to Oreo. But there are cute moments where they'll lay around together and he's even taking to bathing her.

And my all time favorite picture:

________________________________

Mom and I believe God sent Oreo to us. We had a cat before and her allergies didn't allow us to keep it, nor was it as loving as Oreo is. But it didn't take long for Oreo to get to know us and her to get over her allergies with him only. It was as if God said, this is your pet. Likewise, I think God said we were to have Pixie.

We have felt bad for stray cats since our last apartment and took it upon ourselves to feed them. It gets expensive. At some point this week it got into my head, I think by God, that He was telling something. "We can't feed them all. Take this one. Care for this one. I'll get the rest."

We were already trying to ween them off of our food, to cut back on cost. But now, I feed them only when I want to and only until the rest of the cheap stuff we got for them is gone. There's no guilt for not feeding them on schedule either, adding to the feeling that it was God's will.

Anywho... I've babbled on WAY more than I thought I would.... And I should go to bed soon....

OMG... She REALLY looks like Oreo!!! O.O And she's sooooo adorable!!! :X :X :X

You can tell if it's female by looking at its butt. If it has testicles, it's male... :P LOL.

Thanks for sharing the pictures!!!! *huggles*

The Machines Are Alive!!!!!!

So today... er yesterday... we (Mom, Dad, and brother) went to the movies. We went to the 10am showing! This is a shocker, cuz my brother hates early showings. But I guess he hadn't slept all night so he was still up for it. Dad took the day off to see play... I didn't even know he wanted to see the movie since Mom and Josh were the ones who kept talking about seeing it.

Anywho, I didn't even care one way or the other if I saw the movie.... I was never a huge Transformers fan as a kid and the basic idea seemed absolutely silly to make it a live action movie. But y'know Josh REALLY wanted to see it, and had even planned early times for the other movie plan we had just so he could see it... And I was like awwwww... How can I object when he was obviously so excited to see it.

So anywho, we all went to see it and I'm glad too! That movie was waaaaaaaay cooler than I thought it was gonna be! The music, the graphics, the special effects in general, the characters (robot and human).... They were all great. The plot was even awesome! I wouldn't mind seeing it again. And I can safely say I'll be putting it on my wishlist for DVDs. So kudos to my brother for making me want to go.

On another note.... While doing laundry today... I lost a sock. Well, it was in the load when I took it to the washing machine (apartment laundry room). But when I went to move the load over, I could only find one sock. I shook out all the clothes, checked the floor, the machine several times... and nothing. Came back in and checked if it'd fallen out before I left the apartment and nope.... It was lost. Went to rescue the clothes after the dryer was done and sure enough two socks were sitting right on top of the load in the front of the dryer.... I think the machines are messing with me.... Maybe there's not only a monster in the back of the dryer stealing socks, but also a monster at the bottom of washers toying with us..... ~hears twilight zone music~
