Just Curious...

Okay, so if you haven't read my older blogs or don't really know me all that well or haven't read this on my other blog site.. or.. I think that actually covered everyone.... Okay, so if ya don't know, I play a vampire game.. There's some role playing to it in yahoo groups. Well... I posted this in a blog like site I'm mainly keeping as Kila's personal page (Kila's my vampire). Anywho, I asked some questions and basically for some opinons.. And so I thought well hey, why don't I ask you guys too? So I am.. So here's the blog I posted on the other site.

With all the fiction and movies out there, there are so many myths about vampires... I am by no means an expert. I've basically followed suit with the average RPer.. But as I was just watching a 'pire movie last night, I'm curious as to which myths you all follow or choose to ignore. Or hey even if someone knows the whys behind something.

Reflection/no reflection: I'm ify on this one so I just leave it out of my RPs all together. I don't understand why a vampire would lose their reflection. Ifn you know, lemme know. Hollywood goes either way.. I don't recall what little fiction I read had to say.

Sunlight: That's pretty universal. Hang out during the day, get burned.. Not to hard a concept.. And for some reason I don't really need an explanation. Maybe because it is pretty universal.

Crucifixes: Now in our game, Holy Water is baaaad... But I dunno if that would apply to crucifixes. Though displaying a symbol doesn't really strike me as being bad... I reckon disturbin' hence the shrinking away from it.

Okay, it was Interview with the Vampire I saw...

Dead blood: Why would it be bad to drink once the heart has stopped? Just curious...

Hmmm.. What else...

Garlic: Again in game we've got Garlic Spray, but why is garlic bad for vampires?

Procreation: The norm seems to be siring as the only method. I read/saw someplace that they had kids... That was just disturbing to me...

OH!

Coffins: My 'pire has one and uses it... Last night, the movie made it sound like a necessity. Elsewhere, it seems to be optional... If it IS a necessity, could someone explain it too me?

I'm sure I've forgotten some, and maybe I'll come back and add or whatever... I'm just curious as to the reasons behind and which you all choose to follow for your RPs. I again follow the general norm, just cuz, well, those were the examples I got when I started this game.

Bulletins...

They are slowly driving me nuts. Here's the thing.. I like to keep a neat an orderly Inbox when it comes to email, and for the most part these bulletins are little more than forwards and silly announcements you can send (forward) to all of your friends at once. Only, because it is YOUR bulletin, I can't delete the one's I've already read. And let's face it kids, some people post some incredibly stupid stuff. And yes I probably do it sometimes to. Althogh I do try to keep it to only one or two a day tops... In other words I don't try and spam you with stuff and I delete mine after it's been up long enough.

I wish Tom would allow us to delete bulletins we've seen off of our lil private bulletin boards. Or maybe, he could shorten the length they remain up. Hey, even a hide this bulletin option would be nice. I suggested or did I ask... about this in a message/suggestion to Tom already.. But I reckon it was one of tons that will not get read or heard.

So why am I ranting/babbling about this? I guess to make it known, that you all are driving me nuts! I'm tired of messages that read "insert outrageously stupid phrase here" and then once opened reads: now send this out with one of the following or you'll have rotten luck/sex/love life for 900 years... It's not true.. It's not funny... It's incredibly childish. Announcements about events or new stuff is cool... But dude, take down old announcements. I'll look at your page if you really want me too... Honest! And I do too! But if your last 5 bulletins all said "come see my page", I start to roll my eyes when I see your bulletins..

If you've taken the time to read this, it tells me you care enough about me to read my stuff and therefore might care to heed my words... Or it says, my stuff is interesting enough for your attention, and again ya might hear what I'm saying... And if anything I've said was felt as a direct insult to you, I'm sorry. I love seeing good bulletins. But repetitive stuff is starting to get on my nerves.
