Where's the Volume Control?

You know those families on TV where everyone yells rather than walk over to each other and just talk? I think I live next to one of those families... Or maybe more than one of those families. Mom and Dad are ALWAYS yelling at each other for every little thing.... Mom yells at kid for breaking something or messing with something... Kid yells back his "I didn't do anything!"s.... And they must be part of a species of yellers, cuz all there friends talk loud too. I get sporting events where all the guys "Yeah!" for each lil victory. I get the drunken hubby/boyfriends yelling to be let in. Don't like it, but I get it. But now chickadee's girl friend came over and the two of them were having a conversation as if they were talking over a crowd rather than in a quiet neighborhood within feet of each other. But then these chuckleheads also like to have fights in the middle of the streets, with one end in the car and the other in the apartment. Where is the mute button?
